Joseph Huettl is a licensed landscape architect and landscape contractor with a Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley. With over twenty years of experience in the field, Mr. Huettl has designed and/or installed a range of residential, commercial, and institutional projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Principal of Huettl Thuilot Associates, he played a key role in the design and construction of many innovative projects including four Sunset Garden Award winners from 2002 to 2006. Prior to forming Huettl Thuilot Associates, Mr Huettl had designed and built hundreds of residential and light commercial landscapes, with projects featured in the Sunset Western Landscaping Book, Sunset Garden Annual, Northern California Home and Garden and various newspapers. He was a finalist in the Diablo Valley All Wars Memorial competition. As a student at Cal, he received the Fred Barlow Award for design excellence. When not working on a deadline or taking care of his two daughters, two dogs, three reptiles and a parrot named Kitty, Joe's other pursuits have included traveling, fishing, rock climbing, kung fu, sea kayaking, downhill skiing, mountain biking, backpacking and other outdoor activities.

Colin Miller Colin Miller obtained his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. While a student he spent several months abroad in Europe, studying historical and modern public and private landscapes. Before joining HLA he worked at one of the largest design/build firms in the nation.
 


Sue Remick obtained a Master's in Environmental Psychology from UC Berkeley. As a Business Owner/Manager for over 20 years, she brings fresh insight to the office management. In her previous business roles, she has authored five guidebooks to dining in the Bay Area.
